波浅葱 Nami Asagi

清涼感や爽やかさを感じさせる色で、夏の着物や小物によく使われます。
藍色や萌葱色と同じく、厄を除けると言われる色でもあります。
▶︎波
有名な、日本をイメージさせる絵といえば波。浮世絵の波を思い浮かべます。
世界で一番有名な波を描いたのは、葛飾北斎。
北斎は、まさに、森羅万象を描くことに生涯通して挑戦し続けた絵師と言えるでしょう。水の流れや風など、目に見えなくともこの世に存在するもの、さらには想像上のものなど、ありとあらゆる対象物を描き人々を魅了してきました。
そんな北斎が、特に生涯こだわりを持って挑み続けたのが「波」の表現。
静かに聳える富士山の存在感とが合わさり、見る者に大波が勢いよく迫ってくる感覚を与えます。
この北斎の波が、今よく目にする浮世絵の波として浸透したのは間違いありません。
足袋小町のシリーズでは
この二つを相性よく掛け合わせ、新たな日本の魅力-neo Japaneseとして波浅葱、と名づけました。

【The blue Wabe】
▶︎Asagi
It is mean a lite blue color,It gives an image of coolness and freshness.Often used in summer kimono.
Like indigo and green onion, it is also said to exorcise evil spirits.
▶︎WAVE
Ukiyo-e waves are one of the most famous Japanese images. It was painted by Katsushika Hokusai.
Hokusai spent most of his life trying to express the world in pictures.
The pictures he drew fascinated people. It’s including things that exist in this world even if they cannot be seen, such as flowing water and wind, as well as things that are imaginary.
In particular, his writing waves became famous around the world.
In the Tabi Komachi series
By combining these two ingredients in a harmonious way, we named it Nami Asagi as a neo-Japanese.
